This two-volume publication on the prehistory and protohistory of the Polish lands offers an accessible yet scholarly introduction to the latest research on the earliest periods of the region’s past. Created specifically for the 21st World Congress of the International Union of Prehistoric and Protohistoric Sciences, it results from collaboration among dozens of scholars from leading academic and research institutions across Poland.

Each volume provides a concise overview of sequential chronological periods and highlights the most significant archaeological sites that exemplify them. The texts are complemented by a rich and carefully curated visual component, enhancing the material’s engagement and interpretive value. The publication will be released under the titles Exploring Prehistoric Poland from Paleolithic to Neolithic (edited by Iwona Sobkowiak-Tabaka) and Exploring Prehistoric Poland from the Early Bronze Age Pastoralists to the Roman Period (edited by Andrzej Michałowski).
