Translation

To translate a page in Chrome, open the page, click the Translate icon (looks like two squares/letters) in the address bar, or right-click and select "Translate to [Your Language]," then choose your desired language; Chrome often prompts you automatically or you can enable automatic translation in settings. 


Quick Translation (Desktop)

  1. Visit Page: Go to a foreign language webpage.
  2. Icon/Right-Click: Click the Translate icon that appears on the right of the address bar, or right-click anywhere on the page and choose "Translate to [Your Language]".
  3. Select Language: Choose your preferred language from the pop-up menu. 

If You Don't See the Icon (Desktop)

  1. Open Menu: Click the three dots (More) in the top-right corner of Chrome.
  2. Select Translate: Choose "Translate" from the dropdown menu.
  3. Keyboard Shortcut: Use Ctrl+Shift+L (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+L (Mac) to bring up the translate option. 

On Mobile (Android/iOS)

  1. Open Page: Go to a page in another language.
  2. Tap Prompt: Tap the translate prompt at the top of the screen or the "More" (three dots) icon in the address bar and select "Translate". 

To Manage Settings (Desktop)

  1. Go to Settings: Click the three dots > Settings > Languages.
  2. Toggle: Turn on "Offer to translate pages that aren't in a language you read" for automatic prompts.
