Translation
To translate a page in Chrome, open the page, click the Translate icon (looks like two squares/letters) in the address bar, or right-click and select "Translate to [Your Language]," then choose your desired language; Chrome often prompts you automatically or you can enable automatic translation in settings.
Quick Translation (Desktop)
- Visit Page: Go to a foreign language webpage.
- Icon/Right-Click: Click the Translate icon that appears on the right of the address bar, or right-click anywhere on the page and choose "Translate to [Your Language]".
- Select Language: Choose your preferred language from the pop-up menu.
If You Don't See the Icon (Desktop)
- Open Menu: Click the three dots (More) in the top-right corner of Chrome.
- Select Translate: Choose "Translate" from the dropdown menu.
- Keyboard Shortcut: Use Ctrl+Shift+L (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+L (Mac) to bring up the translate option.
On Mobile (Android/iOS)
- Open Page: Go to a page in another language.
- Tap Prompt: Tap the translate prompt at the top of the screen or the "More" (three dots) icon in the address bar and select "Translate".
To Manage Settings (Desktop)
- Go to Settings: Click the three dots > Settings > Languages.
- Toggle: Turn on "Offer to translate pages that aren't in a language you read" for automatic prompts.
